Some of the new desks, providing a better learning environment and employment for local carpenters too

When Rosie wrote “My Greatest Wish,” she included a phrase that said: “I don’t think I can accomplish this task myself. It will involve alot of people.” We firmly believe that anyone who wants to help make a difference, should be able to make a difference.

Even $1.00 can greatly assist a child or family.

We are proud to say that 100% of your donation goes directly to funding projects sponsored by Rosie’s Rafikis.

All overhead costs including website hosting and development, salaries paid to employees of Rosie’s Rafikis (1 currently), stationary, bank wire transfer fees, postage, etc., will be covered by the founders. This is our pledge, promise and commitment to you. We are currently in the process of applying for 501(3)(c) status.

See how you can help:

$1.00 – Can buy milk for a week for one child, a pair of socks, or pens and pencils for one child for a school year

$10.00 – Can pay for one doctor visit or malaria treatment for one person.

$18.00 –  One treated mosquito net.

$50.00 –  Pays the salary for one pre-school teacher for one month. Pre-school teachers are typically funded by contributions from families, not by the government as are other teacher’s pay.

$90.00 – Ugali flour for a family of five for one month. Ugali is the staple food of the poor in this area. It is finely milled corn flour.

$1000 – Approximate cost of one year of boarding school tuition and expenses.

Any amount would be greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.

You can also help by visiting our store (link). As we mention elsewhere on the site all proceeds from the sale of these handmade items go back in full to the artists themselves.

At this time we are only able accept donations by paper check or money order.  Donations can be sent via snail mail to:  Rosie’s Rafikis, P.O. Box 210, Foxboro, Ma. o2035
